SSV Oliver Hazard Perry is a 200 ft, three-masted, full-rigged Tall Ship. With 20 sails and 7 miles of rope on board, there is no room for idle hands when we set sail! Life on Oliver Hazard Perry means you become a part of our crew, from hauling lines, to climbing aloft, to taking the helm, you will participate in every aspect of sailing the ship. No previous sailing experience or extraordinary fitness is required, while life aboard is active and hard work, a positive attitude and sense of adventure is the only prerequisite to join!

In addition to the wealth of knowledge you will gain sailing Oliver Hazard Perry, there are many additional educational opportunities during your time aboard, including: 
-Knots, Splicing, Turks Head Bracelets
-Navigation & Basic Plotting
-Ship's Systems & Engineering
-Marine Biology
-Ocean Conservation & Environmental Impact

PROPOSED ITINERARY

Day 1: July 14th – Embark Oliver Hazard Perry at 3pm in Newport, Rhode Island.  Dock and safety orientation while sailing to anchor in the Sakonnet River.

Days 2: July 15th  – Sail north through the Cape Cod Canal. Anchor north off Sandwich, MA. 

Day 3 - 6: July 16th - 19th – Sail north along the Eastern Seaboard towards Nova Scotia. 

Day 7, 8: July 20th - 21st –  Arrive in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, a historic fishing town. Spend two nights anchored with opportunities for port visits. 

Day 9: July 22nd  – Depart Lunenburg

Day 10 - 14: July 23rd - 27th – Sail back south to Boston. Anchor the last night in Outer Harbor Islands

Day 15: July 28th –  Disembark at 9am
