When did you first fall in love with sailing? I first fell in love with sailing as a teenager sailing small sailboats on Lake Winnipesaukee at a Y overnight camp, Pleasant Valley Camp for Girls. However I didn't realize it was my passion until I spent a semester abroad on S/Y Ocean Star with Sea|Mester. During my first exposure to educational sailing programs it didn't take long to realize I had found myself, and my purpose. Ever since, I have been striving to give other students the same life-changing experience I was given.
What is the best part of your job? There are countless moments I wish I could properly articulate which would justify why I love this job so much, but I will save those memories for my auto-biography some day. (enter laugh track) The best part of my job is helping adolescents and adults use this environment to better themselves and their interactions with others. The letters and notes I've received from past students and co-workers are without a doubt among my most prized possessions.
Favorite place you've sailed to: Tobago Cays & Dominica
What's your definition of a salad: I'm glad you asked. This question has puzzled me for years now, but after many a conversation concerning this very topic, this is my current definition:
A salad is a mixture of ingredients, tossed together, with some sort of binding component.
