Tall Ship Oliver Hazard Perry
is Stage for Island Moving Company

NEWPORT, RHODE ISLAND (August 31, 2018) – Rhode Island’s Official Tall Ship SSV Oliver Hazard Perry is wrapping up a successful 2018 season with Island Moving Company’s site-specific production of Second Star to the Right: A Tale of Hook & Pan. The ticketed event, scheduled for September 6-10, will be danced on the docks at Fort Adams and on the deck and in the rigging of the 200 foot, three-masted vessel.

Shortly thereafter, Perry will move to winter storage here in Rhode Island.

Since 2014, over 1,000 young people’s lives have been changed by Oliver Hazard Perry Rhode Island’s sail training and education-at-sea programs from Canada to Cuba and many points in between. Another 100,000 people have toured the ship in various ports. With 10,000 nautical miles under her keel, the ship has performed extremely well in diverse weather conditions, and the ship remains in excellent condition and is up to date on U.S. Coast Guard inspections.
