Not The Storm We Had Planned

You know you are in New England when...

the Sysco order you had planned for delivery still arrives in blizzard-like conditions. Yesterday was not the average day on Oliver Hazard Perry, and it will probably take a few more cups of cocoa before we fully recover. We knew there was a big snow storm coming in, and had taken precautionary measures. However what we didn't predict was the 200 + item provision from Sysco still coming through (shout out to Sysco for being true New England drivers). It seemed almost ironic that this order, which is one of the final preparations before heading South, arrived on the worst cold weather day we have experienced. Many of our sailors' beards were replaced with 'beardsicles' as we spent the next hour and a half facing the elements to bring our large food order down below. Through (literal) blood, sweat, and tears, we made sure the order made it safely on board (especially the 13.5 pounds of Nutella). I think we can all admit, yesterday was a day of day dreams for warmer weathers to come.
